I Clean Carpets & Windows Discusses The Different Methods On How To Clean Carpets

Different Carpet Cleaning Methods
One of the things that can boost your home’s appeal is carpets. It also helps in ensuring that you and your family members are safe from slipping or falling because of slippery and wet floors.

Facts About Carpets

Carpets usually act like filers in the indoor environments since they trap soils, gases, and human or animal dander. When there is an excessive buildup of soils in the carpet, it might cause allergic reactions or illnesses to dwellers. So in order to maintain a healthy indoor environment, be sure to remove soils, biopollutants and volatile organic compounds that your carpets might have.

Methods For Cleaning Carpets

There are indeed a couple of methods when it comes to cleaning carpets. Cited below are some of these methods:

1.    Dry Cleaning – This method is considered preferable since there is no need to wait for the carpets to dry. Usually, this method is performed by covering the carpet with a special cleaning powder specially designed to attract dirt just like magnets. The powder is vacuumed after.

2.    Shampooing – This is considered the least effective method. Detergents which are specially designed are being applied into the carpet. Through vacuum, the shampoo is then extracted from the carpet. Know that the detergent being used contain deodorizers and brighteners to make the carpet looking nice and smelling good.

3.    Steam Cleaning – This is considered the most effective method for cleaning carpets. It is also known as hot water extraction. Professional service providers like I Clean Carpets & Windows make use of a powerful machine that will inject a solution of hot water and detergent into the carpet. Similar machine will extract the mixture from the carpet. This method will make the carpet looking and smelling like new. Most importantly, the carpet will become free from soil and microbes.

4.    Foam Carpet Cleaning – This uses minimal amount of water and foam detergent that will attract as well as adhere to the soil. Once the foam is worked into the carpet, it is vacuumed which extracts most of the detergent, dirt and water.

5.    Bonnet Method – This is performed only in commercial institutions since it does not work well in residential homes. It is performed by applying a chemical detergent to the carpet and using an absorbent pad on a machine in order to extract the dirt.

When it comes to choosing which among these methods suits your needs, it will actually depend on the amount of traffic the carpet can endure. The material of the carpet must also be considered when choosing what method to use. But whatever method you may choose, know that all carpets that are to be deep cleaned must be thoroughly vacuumed first.

But I have my carpets shampooed at least once a year and I always ask get help with this chore from professional carpet cleaners since this is quite a difficult task and I don't have the necessary chemicals and equipment for this.
